As a country that serves as an ideal tourism attraction with something for everyone, it is a natural progression for Malaysia to rise in the ranks among the Meeting, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) destinations.

It is encouraging to note that more than one million tourists came for meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE), out of the total 20.9 millions tourists who visited Malaysia in 2007. Even though it is an improvement of 23.5% compared to 2006, the figure however represents only 5% of total tourist arrivals here. This indicates that the local industry has great potential to grow.

The Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry is one of the key areas that is being
aggressively promoted in recent years. To successfully market the country as a choice destination for MICE, there’s a need for a specific administrative body to coordinate matters related to the industry.
The formation of Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) was announced on December 2008, to
act as a one-stop centre to assist convention and exhibition organisers. MyCEB’s goal is to establish Malaysia as the preferred MICE destination with the vision of positioning the country as a professional world-class venue of great prominence.
