Bidding for Conventions
If you’re bidding for conventions, the Sarawak Convention Bureau’s Convention Bidding Support Package is provided free of charge to meeting planners and includes professional quality bid documents, personal letters of support from various parties, detailed promotional literature on Sarawak, financial support of up to RM5,000 for marketing and promotion of the event, in-kind support for bid presentations and site inspection visits for decision makers.
If your organisation is a registered non-profit organisation or a company limited by guarantee and the convention you’re bidding for will attract delegates from outside Sarawak, you may be eligible for financial support from the Bureau. The amount awarded depends on the event’s economic, social, trade and publicity value to Sarawak, and can be as high as RM20,000 for major international events. The funding is at the discretion of the Bureau.
Developing New Meetings
If you’re a non-profit organisation and wish to develop new meetings and conventions in Sarawak that would attract delegates from outside Sarawak, you can approach the Bureau for professional advice, support and seed funding.
Selecting Venues and Vendors

For this purpose, you can leverage on the Bureau’s extensive database of venues and service providers. The Bureau can also assist you to obtain competitive quotations and the appointment of a PCO.

Delegate Boosting
Once your convention has been secured, you’ll need to attract the delegate to attend your event. Here’s where the Bureau can assist, by loaning display materials, professionally produced promotional video on Sarawak, brochure shells that are ready to be printed with your convention details and targeted database extracts to identify related organisations and individuals who may be interested in attending your event.
